NEW DIVISION. NEW LEADERSHIP — Ryan (Noah Bean) takes charge of Division with Nikita (Maggie Q) by his side. Their first mission under the new regime is to bring in “The Dirty Thirty,” the rogue agents who failed to respond to the Division recall after Percy was killed. Unfortunately, their first mission doesn’t go as planned and Michael (Shane West) is arrested, forcing Nikita to change gears and hatch an escape plan for him. Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) reprises her alter ego, the spoiled Russian princess Alexandra Udinov, in a very unique way as part of the plan to spring Michael. Meanwhile, Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) struggles to maintain a working relationship with Sonya (guest star Lyndie Greenwood), despite his growing attraction to her. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Craig Silverstein (#301).
i Loved it I think the show runners wanted a season premiere that would not only suit the original fans of the show, but also an episode that would draw some other viewers. This should have been paired with Arrow, as both have similar genre's.
The episode was great though, and they seem to be building it up really well. Excited for the next episode.
The season premiere of Nikita scored a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating, down 50% from a 0.6 for the last season premiere on September 23, 2011 and down 25% from a 0.4 for the season finale on May 18, 2012
The first few episodes in Season 2 were quite lacking compared the the rest of the season so I expect them to follow suit with this. The first 20 minutes of the episode was a drag and I was even questioning whether this series was going to be good or not, but surprisingly it got much better in the latter half of the episode. Shame the ratings are going down.
I really enjoyed the season premiere. It always takes a couple of episode to lay down all the storylines and start to build some tension. Can't wait for Amanda to pop up. They better not kill her.
Watched the first episode after miss the last few episodes of season 2. I cannot believe that things changed so fast. I need to watch those few episodes again.
It was a big mistake not to include Amanda in the premiere. While this rogue agent was also an excellent villain, Alex killed him, so he didn't start any season-long story arcs (which made the show so good in the first two seasons). The only development in the episode was the Mikita engagement, which should've been mid-season filler.
The new Division was also super awkward, with Ryan being a lame and incompetent leader (this guy should've been written off the show ages ago) and Birkhoff running around maniacally. Sean's current role as Alex's boring sidekick also needs to be revamped asap, he is a soldier, he should be used as one.
I have no doubt that they will amp things up soon but I don't think this ep did a good job welcoming new viewers or appeasing the old ones.

READ this very interesting Interview with the creator of Nikita, Craig Silverstein. Amanda won't be seen before the fourth episode, unfortunately. However, he also stated that she's the head of the "Dirty Thirty", she's the Queen B and the main villain for this season.

That's odd, I didn't take the president's words as a death threat. I mean they are working for her. The significance of that scene was lost on me.

She threatened to "destroy" every evidence that Division ever existed, which doesn't only mean to burn the whole building, but all the people who supposedly worked for it. In fact, all of these people inside division are former criminals whose death was faked by the government, which means they shouldn't even be alive anymore.
