It IS racist. It IS pretentious. It DOES scream "I want the world to see how racially progressive we are" and it IS cringe-worthy that white people feature in a video condemning their own race.
Why has it become cool all of a sudden to demonise white people? Yes there's a large section of white folk who are racist scum BUT there's also many of us who aren't. If MTV think they're clever posting that video, then they're fools. It just encourages an even bigger racial divide. No one is going to watch that and think "wow those words truly spoke to me. My ideologies have CHANGED".
If you want to make a statement about the f**ked up year we've had, do it with class and a brain.
