Lauren visited Ronald McDonald house today and played with the kids.

And they need to send out a new single soon.

Like My Mother Does is doing okay but I think a younger, more fresh single would do better for Lauren. I hope Mercury gives another single a chance because honestly a better song with a better production would do better.

Yeah, but Martina's last release only sold 43k first week. Martina didnt have any competition when she snagged those number 1's with okay numbers.

There are no words to describe how thoroughly I love this song "Like My Mother Does." I love it as a mother, as a country fan and as a Lauren Alaina fan. And as a daughter, even though my own mother passed away a few years ago. Getting to see some behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot out in California makes me love the tune that much more. Because knowing that director Shaun Silva went through about 12 hours of the Alaina family's home movies so he could project a few of them throughout this video shows me how much he cares about the artsy side of crafting imagery that is as emotional as lyrics. Lyrics like. "When I'm weak and unpretty/I know I'm beautiful and strong/Because I see myself/Like my mother does." Words that are at once tender and powerful. Even Alaina admits it was emotional to look through the photo album of her real life. And even tougher, she says, "After I was looking through the pictures, I had to roll over and sing on my back and look up, and it was real awkward." But in the final video, you see a rookie who doesn't sound like a rookie at all. And you see what Silva means when he says, "She sings with so much connection."

It doesn't help that Country radio is in a very male mindset right now. A lot of female artist have been under performing this year. Reba McEntire, Sugarland, and Shania Twain who have had large success in the past, are just a few who have suffered this year on radio.

Rodney Atkins is becoming a big name in country music, with a string of number-one hits to his credit.

Teen Lauren Alaina, meanwhile, might be even more famous, having finished in second place on last season’s “American Idol.”
The 20th annual event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Manheim Township’s Overlook Community Campus.
For FallFest, Alaina, who nearly won the 2011 “American Idol” contest before finishing second to Scotty McCreery, will be performing one of her first solo shows after completing the current “American Idol” tour across the country.


The 2011 FallFest is free, with tickets available starting Labor Day weekend at Turkey Hill convenience stores.

Hopefully it changes.

I haven't the slightest idea to why it is happening, but the only females (solo or band) to do well this year so far is Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert, and Sara Evans. (And Lady Antebellum and Thompson Square if you count the duel male/female vocals).

I personally hope that Lauren can join them.
