It didn't.
Since back then the charts were almost entirely based on airplay, and Stan is pretty much the exact opposite of radio friendly, it's actually pretty impressive that it peaked as high as 51.

guys, how funny is it that nobody will ever call king out publicly? like some of the people he threw little shots at have been asked about it (wacka flocka, paul wall, asher roth, kim kardashian, etc) and they were all like oh i didnt take it as a diss, it was an honor to be mentioned by him what kind of untouchable deity?
