Oh so you wrote the song and know exactly what it means?
That phrase doesn't mean what you are saying it means. Could've been somebodys son doesn't refer to whether someone was cared for or not, that is stretching it a little too far. It's a dumb lyric, I like the whole album other than this, no need to get so defensive.
Musically I like the song, just not lyrically.
