Yes, it debuted thanks to
Blackout downloads, then announced as the single soon after that. At the time "Break the Ice" was rumored as the next single as well. The video premiered
December 14th on 20/20.
So if that's the "wait" you're thinking of, then I agree. It was all relatively close together and helped the song peak where it did.
