We shouldn't be worried about the pre-order sales. We should worry about Applause not being strong enough as a lead single. I think whatever promo Gaga does next should be enough to lift up pre-orders.

I guess her team has prioritised getting more commercial material recorded to improve the campaigns chances over promoting Applause.

It's a sacrifice, but a sensible one if the results are strong enough.

Personally, if I was trying to give ARTPOP the best chance, I'd be recording a big urban/pop crossover with Kanye, creating a pop girl collab for the Telephone follow up and a big catchy midtempo pure pop tune a la Paparazzi and Alejandro for safety.

We'll see I guess.

EDIT: I'm going to buy the physical copy in my local music store when it comes out. Just once. So far, I've only bought Applause once on the Dutch iTunes. Don't hate on me for this. My uni is expensive and my parents left me for being gay so I have to pay and do everything by myself. Also, I can't wait for the tracklist, album cover and second single! So excited.
