We just have to realize that she's way past her glory days and either accept it and stick with it or just leave and continue to use her for nostalgic purposes. Even if Mariah sees success with this album, what about the next one? And the one after that? Y'all can't let other stans get to y'all. After Emancipation, it should have been enough but people are still clearly looking for more commercial success from her and I honestly cannot understand that.

Thank-you, Beth.
I love to poke fun at Mariah now and then, we all do, but some people take it a bit too serious. Y'all are dragging her ruthlessly outside of base and making her look bad. Mariah has given us SO much already; it's not like she's one of these new artists that need to stay on top of the game and have these constant #1 singles. She's a mother and wife, who's really only doing music now because it's her first love and what she enjoys doing. There's no loner any pressure for her to achieve massive success, she's been there already, this is her time to make the music she wants, music for herself and for the fans. If that music takes three years, so be it. She has a lot of other stuff to take care of on top of that album.
Mariah has already given us three songs that most of us agree are some of her best work in recent years, if not in her entire career. Y'all can't deny the fact that she's put work into these songs and is only releasing quality material. It's not a #1 Katy Perry smash, it's not a dubstep smash, it's Mariah Carey at her finest. Which isn't as in-demand as it was ten, twenty years ago and that's okay.
JD and others may bring her down commercially, but at the end of the day Mariah has the final say in most of her work. She knows what she wants and she knows what the fans want. Have a little faith in our queen.
Stanning Mariah isn't easy, that's why you should buy Justin Bieber's catalogue and make him your backup fave.
Side-note: I feel bad for the new lambs that are use to stanning people like Rihanna. I've been stanning Mariah, Phil Collins, Janet, Whitney etc. my entire life, so I'm kinda use to the whole no new albums idea. I can see how it can be frustrating for others though.

She needs to not feel pressure to get that next big hit and just focus on what sounds good in her heart.
But god if she worked with Ben Margulies and Walter again

It most definitely was. Artists that ATRL stans for haven't had a peak as big as Emancipation let alone Mariah repeating the same success again in this day and age. The problem is that there is pressure for her to do well. Every article that is concerning her and her new album whether it be big publications like Billboard or just regular blogs (ThatGrapeShit) are constantly referencing her commercial performance in the past and now. People expect Mariah to pull in the numbers and it's obvious that her and her team care about success. It's very evident from her interviews, especially in the past year.

I agree with you for the most part. I do think some members, not to name any names, take it a bit far with the drags. I think we are one of the chillest stan bases when it comes to poking fun at our fave, at least with each other, but sometimes some people go a bit too far. Imagine if she read what we write about her. We would be no better than the low-lives that attack her on Twitter and other social media accounts. I also agree that Mariah already gave us tons of music to hold us over, it's not like she's pulling a Dr. Dre on us.
I disagree about her not caring about commercial success, she honestly does imo. That makes the whole thing so sad.

I know we have a difference of opinions and that's why I made the comment that I made. Seems to me like you were the only one that didn't get what I was saying. Chill with that.

That's one of the reasons why I love this base so much. We're typically able to have a lot of fun with our fave without crossing the line. It's like a safe haven. It's not just on ATRL though, I've seen Lambs all across the web (UKM, Twitter) getting super abrasive and pissed at her lately. It's kinda upsetting.
I'm really torn between how much she cares about commercial success. I think she'd like to have that feeling of knowing she's on top again, but at the same time, a lot of the behaviors she's been showing don't really indicate a serious need to be commercially successful. She's said on numerous occasions that this album is for the fans and the way she's been handling it kinda seems like she doesn't care which way the media swings. That might just be me blindly giving her the benefit of the doubt though.
Edit: I just read what you said to IAM. It looks like we're taking her interviews in completely different ways. I'm too naive for these wars.

I've been noticing that too. I think they're upset for the push backs and the wasted potential, which is understandable, but some of the digs that the "stans/fans" throw at her is just plain WRONG! I don't really see that here but on UKMix the girls need to chill.
When I feel frustrated with her, I just take a break from her music and listen to other artists for a while, which is what I've been doing. It gives me time to explore other artists and wait on my other faves.
I honestly think she's only saying that to save face.

I think we cannot force other members to be an "ideal" lambs
maybe I am the only one who seems irresponsive about this whole damn situation, about some members -not to name any names- who rant all over atrl, etc. etc.
however, I do believe that they are still checking Mariah musics which is the most important thing
yes I chill with that

It's like some of them are turning into the legitimate Stan from the music video. Not getting what they want, so they are going insane and attacking the poor woman mercilessly.
I'm the same way. There are so many artists out there with great music, it's more fun to discover new music and anticipate other releases than stress out over an album getting pushed back or whatever the case may be that day.
Probably. I'm just going to pretend it's for real though and keep her image pure.

Oh hey, people are going to be people. By the way, y'all should check out Sam Smith! He's amazing.
I don't think Mariah has a pure image, in fact she hadn't had a "pure" image since 1995 lol. Queen of controversies.

Notice how I was OP of the Mariah base until Erica HACKED my account?
Trying to be Jesus and save y'all from a sinful OP, and Erica's roman soldier ass pinned me on the cross, stole my work and is now publishing my OP as Jewish Tanakh rather than the Bible it was intended to be.

Don't worry, it's in plans to be changed so nobody else has to suffer seeing that basic mess like I did.
