I don't get why people complained about the TFA being too similar to ANH. Like sure, the plot was kinda similar, but Disney couldn't exactly try and create an ENTIRELY new story, straight off the bat. It's been so many years since a Star Wars film and the last time they tried to make something original, we ended up with the prequel series; we all know how they went. They had to make something that would give old fans nostalgia, bring in new fans and also set up the plot for the next film(s). You can tell they're going to go somewhere slightly different with Episode VIII, centering around Rey's training and attempting to bring Luke back. They've also gotta show the aftermath
of losing Han
, which is the first time the franchise has really
killed
someone major off, aside from perhaps Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.
