I sent this text to a friend earlier, sums up my opinion perfectly:
The Edge of Gloryis like nothing she has done before. Scheiße is another GaGa-RedOne masterpiece, while Government Hooker is so wonderfully experimental. Judas is really a pop tune, but when you hear the album it becomes clear that she doesn't want to be a POPstar, she wants to be an artist. The standout tracks make this album better than The Fame (Monster). It's a new GaGa. People complained that she isn't producing classic-gaga tracks, but when you listen you realise she doesn't want to - she is progressing, which is good to see. I love ***** (don't want a warning), but their albums are all pop. I suppose this is like Rihanna's Rated R, where she has, musically, gone in a different direction. Don't worry, though, there's a sledgehammering dance beat throughout!
