I honestly don't know how to tell them that I don't really follow Christianity or most of it's beliefs anymore. So... my aunt puts me on the sick and shut in list at my church and I had no idea. One Tuesday a few weeks ago my pastor shows up and half of the Deacon/Deaconess board and some of the members and they're all praying over me and stuff and it was so awkward. I've felt like a few of the ones that were there have passed judgment on what type of person I am because they've seen me outside of church and they don't necessarily agree with how I dress. Anyway, how do you tell a black family full of devout Christian's that you aren't a Christian?

I'm having the same issue. It's going to be a mess telling a Christian black family I'm gay and not Christian. But I think just explain deism to them would be your best bet. Explain your viewpoints and why you feel a certain way. They may be a bit more understanding than you would expect. Have a conversation about it, if they shut you out pull the "what would Jesus do" card. I'm so serious. Make them question their own ignorance.

maiko, I've seen a gal just straight from the hood, no make-up, natural hair, dressed down, no illusion and STILL looked more like a woman than real biological bitches that have guts and football shoulders.

Remember a few hundred pages ago I talked about my friend (whose boyfriend is my friend as well) who was tryna come on to me?
They going through a pretty rough patch and on the verge of breaking up... and it's kinda my fault (No I didnt fck her lol)
So I took a transfer to another campus of the school this year, and I start seeing my friend (her boyfriend) around a lot more often cuz he's in that campus doing his nursing degree. So we decide hey we havent seen each other in years, and a group of them from his department usually meet up for drinks every other day so I decide to tag along.
Now nursing, is a female dominated major so most of the people he's hanging out with are chicks. Now he's in a committed relationship, so he doesnt do more than chat with em plus his girl knows (kinda). Me? I'm tryna fucck lol so I'm flirting with em talking all sorts of shyt etc. and this kinda becomes a frequent thing. like 3, 4 times for the week. Drunk as hell in broad daylight lol.
So were hanging out a day and I notice through that he and another chick are getting kinda close. And then one by one, everybody's leaving and heading back to campus, and its just me and him talking. He tells me that the girl he was talking to was tryna get him to sleep with her, and then he goes on a slight ramble about how he envies that I'm single, and I can flirt with and sleep with all these girls and do whatever I want, and he's stuck with his one girlfriend his entire life. He assures me he wouldnt cheat on her, but its just something he wanted to get off his chest. I tell him straight up, he aint missin a damn thing out here, you got you a good one, I gotta procreate with one of these hoes unfortunately.
What he doesnt know is that me and his girl talk a lot and she tells me that yeah he knows he's at the bar with all these girls and she doesnt like it etc. but I dont tell her what he said...
Last Monday he pretty much invites his girl to come have a drink with me and him at the bar. I get there first and meet him, but then a group of girls from his department show up and we just decide to chill together, but then his girl walks in and sees everyone, and goes off on him, pulls him outside, he comes back in and tells her he broke up with her. She comes back in and goes off on him again and they start cursing each other out and then she finally leaves.
and now theyre both hitting me up to grieve I guess. Theyre like literally crying (like, tears) on the phone talking about how they cant live without each other and they dont want anyone else, yet when they do meet in person neither of them wants to talk smh. The dude is calling me up to drink with him and he's drinkin heavy and my liver cant keep up but I'm tryna be a good friend even though this ***** drinks rum like water lol.
But theyll get back together eventually, but they killin me lol

I've had so many conversations since I've been sitting around doing nothing. One of them was about premarital sex, tattoos, and homosexuality and I got so heated because it all led back to the Bible and I only took it as far as to say "I don't believe everything that's in the Bible" and even just that kind of rattled some of them. For me to come forward and say I don't believe in divine intervention, Jesus, etc would really throw them for a loop.
I don't really see an issue with me or my beliefs. Deism is a rather open-minded type of religion. In a nutshell it's basically believing there is a higher power, but that higher power doesn't intervene; however, I'm pretty sure the majority of my family feels like it's Christianity or the highway.

idk for some reason I think I'm sorta at fault cuz the idea of trying to sleep with one of em didnt get into his head before I came in the picture.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.

That's the issue though. Bible this, Bible that. I'm fairly sure that they have all done some sinful things. I mean according to the Bible women aren't supposed to speak in church but that does stop them from screaming up and down the aisles like headless turkeys claiming they have the "Holy Ghost". I personally would use their own weapon against them. Not trying to make them distrust the bible but showing them a more open-minded view of the bible and how they can still practice the quality of loving thy neighbor even if thy neighbor likes tattoos, wears miniskirts, is gay, etc..
If your family is dense like mine then this is easier said than done. They should come around. Just remember Christianity is all they know and all they will know unless you can provide a new perspective. But if they are being hardheaded I say **** it and do you boo.

Majorly. It's not your fault he's a male thot. Nobody asked him to be in a relationship if he couldn't handle it and nobody forced him to act up and ruin it.
No shade though cuz that's your boy

I wish it were as easy as "I respect your religion, so respect mine", but I don't think it's going to be. I actually did try use their own weapon against them and ultimately they were like we're all born sinners, but if you ask for forgiveness you'll be accepted into the Kingdom of God
My thing is, they love to pick and choose what is acceptable and what isn't. Like you can't follow one thing and completely denounce something else just because you don't feel it's right. Like one of my aunts drinks like a sailor, but she doesn't agree with homosexuality. Like the hypocrisy really gets to me and that's why I don't feel like they'll be that open about it. They're willing to be open-minded when it's only beneficial to them.

Christianity is one big hypocritical mess, but it's not as extremist as Islam or as delusional as Jews.
We have major issues but we're not that badly off.
