Yeah I gotcha. I like HM for what it is. It's no masterpiece, nor is it an amazing song. It's weak by lana's standards imo, but it's pretty and definitely has grown on me. That and HBTB (to stay on topic, for some people ) sound like close-to-finished demos: really good songs that need the final touch on them. Rick is a good producer, but I don't think he has the finesse of a fantastic producer.

Why did she never work with the other Rick again? Ride was perfection, production-wise

Right, haha I believe that. I just hope the song in iTunes quality is a little clearer, or sounds a little better. Higher quality. I'm fine with the song, and it's going to continue growing on me. I love the little piano at the end of the second verse tbh, did anyone else notice that?

Or how in each verse, the first three lines are quiet and have softer vocals, then the fourth line is sung loudly and the vocal production changes?

Yeah it's like a pre-chorus This song contains many different types of vocal layering and mixing

Yeah. I feel like there's so much tension in the song, I love it. In the verses especially, and then it's released in the chorus.

I think both Honeymoon (the song) and HBTB are both masterpieces. Honeymoon is amazing, the production is top-notch. Her vocals are flawless. I dont know although Honeymoon and HBTB sound pretty much different, I still feel that there are a sense of cohesiveness between them. This album is going to be amazing just as all of her previous ones.
