I assume it happens all the time for example when parents buy tickets for their children who don't have accounts or credit cards? When i purchased the ticket it said to enter the details exactly like they appear on the credit card or it wont be approved by the bank.
We have called and emailed ticketmaster but they said the name is not transferable, but obviously ticketmaster wont be at the event it will be the event staff.
I've tried calling the venue directly but haven't been able to get through!
Anyone had a similar problem?

I had a similar issue when I had VIP for Lady Gaga. My aunt bought me two VIP tickets under her name. Ticketmaster told me it was non-transferable. But, once I got to the venue, it was fine. My aunt just showed them her ID, Credit Card and Ticketmaster confirmation email and I was good to go.
You should be fine!
