lbh, Katy is fully capable of having another 10 years of massive mainstream success in her if she plays her cards right. The amount of people not only enjoying her singles and albums but gaining respect for her as an artist is only going up. She screams longevity.

Katy is currently bigger than any other artist that debuted alongside or after her, such as Gaga, Kesha, Miley and Ari to name a few, with the exception of possibly Adele. Everyone else, such as Beyonce, Rihanna and Taylor, have been around for longer than Katy has. Her time to take them over will come soon enough.

Same. Taylor has literally ALWAYS played it safe. Katy has taken more risks in her music.

I wonder how Katy's career is going to span out. I definitely see her getting over the whole choreo pop star thing by 40, tho. I'm ready for her critically acclaimed acoustic era. Just imagine her playing arenas with her guitar + her band.

All I'm hoping for is that she has a long and fruitful career, I'm not here for her to just drop from the radar. And I should be satisfied bc she's an icon now and she said herself she wants to go down this route. I want her to age with me from my current teenage dreams to my adult reality era. I think Taylor is already starting to alienate people with 1989 (although in a different way thats gaining her different fans) and if she continues on that road it's only a matter of time before she slows down. Going pop I think will hurt her in the long run.

Katy has shown everyone wrong time and time again. I don't think she's really slowing down either, especially since she has some big stuff lined up next year

+ Also the more I think about it, the more glad I am that she hasn't experienced a huge peak like Bey or Taylor yet. Sure, TD was huge but she still hasn't reached Bey or Taylor status in America imo. But that's amazing for her longevity. She still has room to grow... just like how Bey has been in the business for half her life but she is just now experiencing huge celebrity status.
