To the end of last week, it was 56k (+ trickle sales of Morning Glory since March) short.

There are eleven chart weeks left in the year and it's currently selling ~6k a week, so even if it were not to increase due to Xmas, it should still sell around another 66k this year.

Essentially it's in the bag to happen this year.

Wait for few weeks and the sales will start soaring again for this, with the holiday season coming up and "Skyfall" movie release, which will boost the single and this album obviously.

Yeah, but it was more of a statement in general. About women with short lived careers in music specially in GB (and I think he is right) and then he said for Duffy and Adele it will happen to them also. It was not a diss. He said RITD is a great song but doesn't heard the album.

21 is at No 19 on this week's UK album chart. It is the album's 90th week in the Top 20.

Well it already has Worldwide....... but probably hurts a little more on home soil I'd say.....

In 5 - 6 weeks 21, should be top 40 WW on Media traffic, have gone diamond in the US and become the 4th largest selling album in the UK ever .......and all this accomplished in less than two years...exciting times....

Yep obviously 21 has seriously outperformed Morning Glory worldwide.

However the thing to remember is, that album (Morning Glory) was a phenomenon in the UK in the 90s - a whole generation knows the lyrics to every track and Oasis were considered, in the UK, the biggest band since the Beatles. Indeed Morning Glory quickly became, and remains - at the moment - the 2nd biggest studio album of all time in the UK, after the Beatles' Sgt Pepper. The album won the 'Best Brit Awards album of the last 30 years' a few years ago; it is one of the most loved albums in UK history.

All of which I am saying as someone who grew up in the 90s with some nostalgia - but the basic thing is, it will be a huge deal when 21 outsells Morning Glory in the UK.
