Yep obviously
21 has seriously outperformed
Morning Glory worldwide.
However the thing to remember is, that album (
Morning Glory) was a phenomenon in the UK in the 90s - a whole generation knows the lyrics to every track and Oasis were considered, in the UK, the biggest band since the Beatles. Indeed
Morning Glory quickly became, and remains - at the moment - the 2nd biggest studio album of all time in the UK, after the Beatles'
Sgt Pepper. The album won the 'Best Brit Awards album of the last 30 years' a few years ago; it is one of the most loved albums in UK history.
All of which I am saying as someone who grew up in the 90s with some nostalgia - but the basic thing is, it will be a
huge deal when
21 outsells
Morning Glory in the UK.
