The pop music landscape has changed since Brit's "comeback" in 2008 and her 2011 follow up. She had an edge because she was a resurfacing pop star that came back with undeniable "hits". Her management team had a successful formula, although flawed, that worked for the Circus era for the most part and was beginning to lose traction during Femme Fatale, luckily radio was still backing her despite her teams incompetence.
Now, after a string of flops and poor promotion, her luck kind of ran out after 2011. The hype died down, and her management was still trying to pull the same tricks out of their hats since 1998 but with minimal effort.
Make Me had a lot of promise, but its release was mess and radio was not trying to save it and her label and team were obviously not trying to save it.
Slumber Party is showing some promise with the video, her best since 2008 (possibly 2004), but she has a kind of damaged brand these past few releases so we can only hope something catches on soon.
