I love BTW (the album) and would change very little about it. After listening through some of The Fame and The Fame Monster for the first time since BTW released I have to admit that I wish some of the songs could've been simpler. I don't mean the message or the material it covered but listening to Alejandro, Teeth, Monster, Poker Face, Papparazzi, Just Dance, Love Game, etc. the production was a lot simpler and the song was catchy in and of itself. I wish there were more songs in that structure. Again I love BTW and most of it's songs but sometimes I find the album to be a little too loud, messy and over produced. In particular, there were a few songs were it somewhat annoys me. Judas and Bad Kids both have these dark and fierce verses that switch to bubbly sweet pop chorus which kind annoys me because Judas in particular I think would've been great and a hit had it maintained a similar feel throughout the song. Hair's 2nd verse also kinda bores/annoys me just because it doesn't really feel like it fits with the song. Gov't Hooker does something similar but not as bad where she inserts this bubbly sweet voice singing "Yay I'm your hooker", etc. but it's more meant as being ironic and a little humourous.
I think she perhaps kept making the production more complicated to make it more unique. For example how Hair combines Cheesy/anthemic 80's lyrics, europop, electro and a random rock sounding verse. Not that I'm complaining because a lot of the time it worked and sounded fine most of the time but sometimes I do think she/the producers over did it. In particular Judas and GH's background instrumentals are more catchy, hard hitting and fun than the song which is different than all her other songs. Just my thoughts, Hair and GH in particular are one of my top favorite tracks off the album but it was a random musing that I noted after listening through TF and TFM again.

I doubt it. Y&I was the most obvious/likely to be simple and stripped down because of the nature of the song and yet the song ended up being one of her most convoluted and craziest ones yet.
