Positive Reviews (counted and non counted by Metacritic) : 15.
Mixed : 7.
Negative : 1.

Total score with the non-counted-by-Metacritic-reviews = 75, and I didn't even count those reviews which only say "positive" or "mixed".
Critics are mainly positive, which is what everyone expected. We all knew some would drag her because she was Gaga, as you can read in certain posts of this thread.

Don't look at Metacritic with its hand picked selection of reviews. Look at the OP with the overwhelming majority of HIGHLY positive reviews. C2C has been received amazingly well despite what any pressed, bitter ATRL member wants to suggest. I'm so proud to stan for a supremely talented artist like Lady Gaga.

Guys, I didn't notice it before, but metacritic is right. The Tribune piece is labeled as a news article and is not one of their official reviews. Same thing happened with the very positive article about Ultraviolence with the New York Times

Also, different publications are weighted much differently. You just can't average in scores from sites that don't count. And there are always a lot of very positive reviews that don't count for high profile releases. You guys act like everyone is out to get Gaga. If the album deserved the acclaim, like her first three, then it would receive it.

But usually the negative reviews barely talk about the album and focus more on her "flop" career and her antics and all of that.

I know you guys read what you want, but even the Slant review dedicated most of the article to the album itself. There is always exposition for context in the first couple of paragraphs.

Why are you still trying to convince people that their feelings about the negative reviews are wrong?

Yes, the intro to an essay or a review can give you some background information about the artist and that's not a problem, but when you call them desperate and then incorrectly infer that the album was made solely for the purpose of redeeming herself of the flop album of 2013 that's a bit too much. Let me not even get into Chris Brown's album reviews.
