I love them and they're both wonderful singers, but I totally agree that their voices don't match at all. The Chinese version of Breath with Chen and Zhang Li Yin is incredible though, if only for Li Yin's bridge.
I'm glad you agree, it's such a shame because they're both so good. I can't believe Taeyeon's sounded that good since she was so young too.

Other than harmonies, and even then they're still at correct pitches, their pitching as a duo is not a problem. I think their tones do clash though. In the other song Jonghyun does with Chen from EXO, their voices go together so well, it's delightful. Like bread and butter.
That's my main concern with it, Jonghyun has a much rougher voice whereas Taeyeon's flows uncannily, so they don't go well together in context.
With that being said, I think Jonghyun's vocals are rougher right now due to fatigue. In songs like Sleepless Night and Selene 6.23 his voice sounds flawless.
