if it's about the tour itself, she should totally win! it might not have been as great as her previous tours, but at least she does something unique with her live shows that no one else dares to do (and if they do then they fail miserably)...
if it's about the direction and editing, etc. it'll most probably win whatever the music equivalent of a razzie award is. jonas akerlund (sp?) directed beyonce's tour. i guess he has more say in this matter than whoever screwed up directing ttalt.

If she doesn't offer a deeper album with P7, I think I'll unstan. It would mean that she's selling herself out for easy pop hits. While I love all her music and judging it all on it's own it's always an A+ but with the way she's talked for the last year and within the last few weeks specifically, I couldn't continue supporting her throwing it all under the rug.

I feel the same but I fear the label will demand a hit song after they put out Rose Ave. Let's hope she will do what she believes in no matter what and won't settle with the comme ci comme ca.

^ i really hope that rose ave. wasn't like "getting it out of her system". i hope it was a little step and a progression into new terrain. i understand if she has to make hit songs, she is a pop star after all. i just hope that those hit songs will be different. if it's another kelly clarkson break-up anthem, so help me god!

if it's yet another run-of-the-mill album, then... well, i'm glad she did exceptional albums before. just gonna keep listening to them.

there's so much--really A LOT--that she can do. i have no clue why she's so... afraid? reluctant? she never was before. i guess the try this experience might have burnt her. would've loved to have seen where she had went if it was a huge success (but then again, it did spawn a kickass tour and got her grammy).

so, why pink? let us all bask in your true musical gospel

You can make a great pop song, have it be catchy and everything but the OBVIOUS hit songs like "Raise Your Glass" and "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" are what disappoint me, in a way. Oddly enough, those two songs are my two most played songs on my iTunes, both having more than 1,000 plays and the only tracks to do so.


Look at songs like "Stay High (Habits)" and other songs that have managed to become really popular but aren't songs you would expect to race up the charts.

Blow Me is amazing, most probably my most used song from TTAL. It just helps to blow off the steam and scream "I've had a **** day" out loud. If the vocals had been engineered better, it would have been perfect but it seems her voice is not really suitable for the electropop productions, just listen to the Greg songs, they are pretty great by themselves but with vocals? Ehm... (Try has a beautiful instrumental but since I have a soft spot for for atmospheric-philosophical music, it's not surprising I love it this much). Overall it didn't work the way it should or maybe we are living too depressed lives to appreciate it. Anyway, she never makes music to please the fans, she writes from her experiences so TTAL was something she wanted to do because she was over the clouds with Willow and that's fine. If you watch it from this perspective, she's always doing what she wants, I bet this time it won't be an exeption and we will get a really interesting record.

from your lips to god's ears! linda hasn't really been doing out-of-the-box or interesting stuff with other artists since forever! i think pink was the only one where she also stepped out of her own comfort zone. other production with other artists were always kinda bland.

i hope that if she works with pink again that it'll be magical once more, not by the numbers.

Raise Your Glass is extremely catchy and it has great message. It's just a good pop song. Nothing else. Blow Me is loud, overproduced, but it has some good lyrics.

I think that her first single will definitely be some pop/catchy/radio friendly type. Don't get your hopes up. But, it doesn't matter. It can be really good. And if the rest of the album is good, then it doesn't matter actually. Her team/label will demand that kind of song, so I hope it won't disappoint me like Blow Me did.
What I specifically don't WANT is: How Come You're not Here's and True Love's. No more overproduced Kurstin nonsense. TTAL song, while it has great lyrics, musically does nothing for me. Here Comes the Weekend , like how two talented people like them do this song?! While bonus tracks are kinda generic, they're solid and I don't mind them.

And she should do one or two songs with Dallas.

i thought blow me was one verse too long. the second verse is just... love the first verse, such nice imagery.

i don't care if the new first single will be radio catchy. as long as it's different. rolling in the deep was TOTALLY radio catchy, however, it was very different. radio does not always mean it has to be generic. there are exceptions. and i hope pink will be one of them with her new song.

i just don't want the album to be like a stack of magazines you browse through at the doctor's office. i want it to read like a book you sit down for, have a cozy moment and just devour one chapter after the other because you completely indulge in its story and atmosphere.
