"I Wanna Go" sold so poorly for the amount of airplay it received. That's why it's understated. What is it at right now? 1.6 million? That's nothing for a #1 Pop song. Probably the lowest for any #1 pop hit in the last few years.

Then you'll have to give all the #1 singles of 2011 credit for that...

I didn't know it sold that little.

At least the radio success and Hot 100 charting was decent given the minimal promotion.

1.6 is really good idk what your talking about. And YAS IWG had good airplay but let's not act like it had as much AI as Rih, or Katy Perry gets. It was basically just played mostly on pop and 1.6 is good IMO.

IWG didn't sell poorly at all. Its airplay was good but like BDawg said let's not act like it had adele/katy/rihanna type airplay where most of their songs peaked at 150+ airplay. Most of the other #1 pop songs you're talking about jennifer had a lot of support outside of pop which is why they would've sold more. It barely passed the 100 million mark and take into account that britney started before the digital era and that the song had practically NO promotion whatsoever.
The fact that it's sold 1.6-1.7 million and will sell 2 million by the end of the year is really good IMO.
When you look at her digital sales they're nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be.
If you compare them to say rihanna's from the Loud era and Gaga's from the Born this way era:
TTWE - 2.3-2.4 million without the remix, 2.6-2.7 with it, 98 million AI, 2 low profile performances and a 30 second appearance at the BMAs
IWG - 1.6 - 1.7 million, 105 million AI, NO promotional performances
What's my Name - 2.9 million, 160-170 million AI, performances at the AMAs, SNL, grammys, Today show, david letterman
Edge of Glory - 2.3 million, 105 million AI, performances on GMA, SNL, American idol finale
I fail to see how that's selling poorly when you look at it.
Just saying.

The Femme Fatale Era Isn't Half As Bad As Y'all Are Making It Seem Though. Other Than The Album Sales & HIAM, I Think The Era Wasn't That Bad.
HIAM - 1.5M
TTWE- 2.6M
IWG- 1.6M
Criminal - 250k
Which Brings It's US Track Total To 6 Million. We Should Try To Look At The Positive Side Though: We're Getting Our Second 3x Platinum Hit Before The End Of The Year And "I Wanna Go'' Is Hitting 2x Platinum Too.,
Rather Than Mopping Over Past Times, We Should Think Of How We're Gonna Get "Circus" To Pass The 3 Million Mark. It's Been So Close For Months. We Should Also Try To get Songs Like Toxic, Gimme More, Piece Of Me & HIAM Pass The 2 Million Mark. That'll Be Indeed A Great Achievement For Us
