I like this, I'm going to need to hear the HQ to really judge, but first listen, I don't hate it. Maybe it's because BTD is my favorite Lana album and this seems like a step back in that direction. Production wise, at least.
It'll be so fascinating to see how the album shifts from classic jazz-esque songs like Honeymoon to the trap-influenced songs like this one. Her albums are always incredibly cohesive, so I have faith in her.
It's very impressive to see how much she switches up her sound from each LP to the next.

True! UV set from the start the mood it was so cohesive!!!
Sorry Lana, not really here for "High By The Beach." I know you have a style and you stick to it, but a tiny bit of diversity in your sound and vocal delivery wouldn't kill - and both this song, and "Honeymoon", didn't have either.
Try again.
I have to agree with this. Ultraviolence the album had a different vibe and stuff, it was darker and perfect, but now this is like a throwback, she's been releasing the same after UV. [I mean the songs we've listened so far, soundtracks + these two new songs]
The way they mixed the vocals on verse 1 and verse 2 differently is another thing that makes this song so special, like how West Coast changed its tempo. On the first verse her voice sounds clear as crystal but then it sounds like an old and vintage recording on the 2nd verse.
