I personally don't really care for silly spats between hip-hop artists and dumb ass radio stations, so I just avoided because I was disappointed in Nicki tbh.

I've been pretty outright in my opinion that Nicki should be just like Flo Rida, Pitbull, Diddy, Akon, somewhat-like-Eminem and even Snoop, and just not give a rats ass about fitting into "hip-hop" culture.

It's great BITT is now Top 10 on urban radio... But that's just barely in Hot 100 Top 50 (at #49). In comparison, Starships is #5 and Turn Me On is #47, and worldwide they have been huge too. Nicki's pop records and popularity ECLIPSE anything she's achieved with her hip-hop music, so it does **** me off slightly she seems to care more about The Hood than the actual people buying/consuming her music today.

She'll always have hip-hop fans to "fall back on", so she should just focus on her damn pop career. Release a constant string of pop songs, do all the promo, learn to dance properly, start using a head mic, etc.

Nicki is a "better" singer/artist/character than so many people dominating the charts right now, so if she just polishes and tidies it up a bit, she'd be as big as Katy Perry come Album #3.

cause thats her culture and where she came from man...it's just somethings you don't understand my dear friend and i respect that but nicki will become what you want her to become and same goes for me. nicki is going to be whoever she wants

Child do you want her to be a full on singles artist? She already lost a lot with this album lord I can only imagine if the next album was ALL pop... omg I'd cry that would be terrible

Firstly, she's a singer-rapper. Even if she did a country or rock album, it'd probably still have rap on it (as in rapping).

I guess you meant to say "you want her to completely drop HIP-HOP" - and no, she should still have urban-radio-friendly singles. But she shouldn't give a **** about that whole culture. Perhaps release urban songs via mixtapes or EPs or separate albums?

No secret the vast majority of people listening to PF:RR listen to Track 1, then skip straight to Track 10...

RR will be lucky to go platinum when it's all said and done and PF is 2x plat.... So that's a million sales she lost. She lost those million in an era where she went more pop. Wonder if there is a connection.

Er... She performed two other hip-hop festivals earlier in the week (Wired Fest and Summer Jam Boston).

Starships, Pound The Alarm, Whip It, Turn Me On and Super Bass were all performed at Wired Fest. She had to skip Whip It and Turn Me On at Summer Jam Boston, because she overran.

If the hip-hop tracks were like Roman Holiday and HOV Lane, and really "out-there", I'd love it.

If they were generic "makin money for my n***as"/"sex in the lounge" type crap, I'd buy the album to support Nicki, but nope - wouldn't really give a crap.

I only really started taking note of Nicki after Check It Out. I kinda liked that track, and I kinda liked Your Love before it, but both were flop singles in the UK. I didn't really start loving her until M4L and then her INSANE verse on When Them Girls At leaked, and I thought she was doing something different with pop.

I think the fact she's an amazing rapper and pretty good singer, with strong sense of style and image and personality, all make her a really sick popstar. The hip-hop side is just there for me. Not really anything I relate to.
