Okay, so this is something I wrote to a Lana Del Rey type beat that I found on youtube. It has a very mellow feel to it, a lowkey rap beat almost.

I write songs and co-produce them They can be found in my sig I've been writing lyrics since I can remember but the music didn't come until about 7 years ago.
Ok so long story short, YES I write songs and I sing. I've written many songs now, for about 7 years now, but stupid Writer's block has gotten the best of me in recent years, although the songs are better lol
For me, first I try to find inspiration. Did something happen that made me angry? Am I keeping an emotion inside or have I kept it for so much time? How do I feel today?
Sometimes, I just write whatever I'm feeling, the decide what kind of song it's gonna be and then slowly structure it.
Other times I start with the chorus and then the verses or viceversa.

Sometimes I just started writing how feel without thinking of rhyming words/phrases, other times I focus on rhymes a lot.
Sometimes I would download a cool instrumental and I would instantly link words with the theme/feel of the song and start writing (this to me is probably the fastest way to write music)
I hate writing hooks by the way, it's annoying so I tend to focus more on verses than anything else, since what I write is mainly indie/rap stuff.
I guess this is more of a poem or an unfinished song, but I'm feeling a type of way and wanted to express myself. It's quite short, but the meaning is when you're in a relationship with someone and they say they love you - but you still have doubts because you don't feel that spiritual reciprocation back.
You start to think that they only love you because they want somebody to love. It's like knowing someone without really knowing them. Maybe I'll finish this song when I have some more inspiration, but here's the start of it.

This was inspired a bit by how people call Avril "big in Japan" even though her success in other countries have dwindled. It's not ABOUT Avril at all, just about a girl who tries to make it big but she only does well in Japan.

I figured I shouldn't let the idea get away from me, so I got up and wrote it down. I think I'll call it Trail of Tears for now, which is generic I know, but it's what came to me.
The trail of tears isn't straight-forward
There's twists and turns along the path
But when you find your way to the end
And you gaze intro the aftermath
You find that there's laughter

And you consider turning back and going in
...but it's easy to see these things

Sometimes I get inspired by a story in the news or a new song. I write down a few ideas about what I want the song to be. Make a quick first draft and start retouching. It's always best to keep lyrics simple. If you can say they same thing, but with less words. Do it.
I can't really figure out the verses for this yet, but I have a really hooky chorus for a song I'm tentatively calling Boyfriend Stealer. The POV is supposed to be from a bisexual male talking about falling for a man whose girlfriend he'd been attempting to steal.

Usually I get inspired by something that I observe or experience and make a few lines that sound good. Since these surges of inspiration happens in very inconvenient places, I write down the snippet in my phone and then later when I actually have time I go back to that note and expand upon what I had written previously. I find it very difficult to just sit down and say 'im gonna write a song' from scratch. Whenever I do, the songs end up just lacklustre and forced.
