Raise Your Glass became one of the empowerment anthems for 2010 and the follow-up single ****in’ Perfect did also the same thing for me. Pink released probably one of her best songs in her career with this song. ****in’ Perfect in terms of lyrical content and themes, is about encouraging people to accept each other for their true identities. Pink stated that the main inspiration behind the track is her husband, Carey Hart. With the message of the song, it became one of my favorites from her and it even peaked at #1 on the personal countdown. This one also enjoyed a good run in the Hot 100 charts peaking at #2 and spending a couple of weeks inside the top 10. Currently, Pink is focused on baby and I doubt she will release a record this year. But who knows, she will be back this year and I hope she delivers more inspirational songs like ****in’ Perfect.

The Queen of pain and artist of the year Adele really made a big impact for 2011. Her heartbreaking Someone Like You is really a great ballad that will really struck your heart upon hearing the lyrics. This is one of my favorites from her best selling record 21. It talks about a girl who has seen her former love for a very long time knowing that her ex is already happy and settled down. This will be a tear-jerker if you can really relate to the situation. With Adele being on the top of the charts, this song is no doubt a smash hit everywhere. Someone Like You peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for weeks and had longetivity on the charts. The music video which was shot in France somehow fits the mood of the song; shot in black and white, we see Adele walking on the entire video until she finally sees the guy during the end. Truly, Adele brought us a great masterpiece for a song. I am one of you who was truly amazed by her talent and I can’t wait for her to take over especially during the Grammys.

Grenade made it to my list on 2010 but the song’s success was even more recognized last year. Bruno Mars sings about an unrequited love as he will do anything for her girl. Bruno sings in desperation with those irresistible vocals which you cannot avoid and eventually you will be mesmerized by it. Grenade is one of the standout tracks from his debut album Doo-Wops & Holigans and I am satisfied this one got released. This song really did well in the charts following the success of Just The Way You Are; it also peaked at #1 in the Billboard Hot 100 and all around the world. As of now, I can say Bruno is one of the best male acts for the past two years. He surely knows how to provide us catchy tune which are more appealing to the ladies. He even provided some life on the songs on which he is being featured. No doubt, Bruno had a great 2011 and I can foretell he will be around in the couple of years.
