Sky 1 talent show Must Be The Music looks set to score another two singles chart hits this Sunday, courtesy of Emma’s Imagination and Pictures.
Both acts took part in last Sunday’s semi final, with studio version of the tracks they performed being offered for sale immediately after their performances. This approach gave Pepper and Piano, who took place in the first semi final, a top 10 hit in this week’s chart with You Took My Heart.
27-year-old singer/songwriter Emma’s Imagination look set to possibly emulate this feat: her This Day (released by Must Be The Music itself via iTunes and Sky Songs) is at seven in today’s midweek sales flashes.
You Took My Heart is continuing to sell strongly and should spend another week in the top 20, where it could be joined by Tears, by fellow contestant Pictures.
However, it is Alexandra Burke who looks the most likely candidate to top the singles chart this Sunday with Start Without You featuring Laza Morgan (Syco). It has a lead of almost 10,000 copies over its nearest rival, Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream (Virgin).
Albums
Perry’s album of the same name, which topped the UK’s albums chart this week, is likely to be dethroned this Sunday. Brandon Flowers’ debut solo album Flamingo (Vertigo) has taken a strong lead in the albums chart, while Hurts look set to score a top five debut with their Happiness album (Major Label / RCA).
Lower down the charts, Nineties survivors The Charlatans and James should both score top 30 entries for their new albums, Who We Touch (Cooking Vinyl) and The Morning After (Mercury).

^ I know it was just your opinion, but it seems to be uncharacteristically common. Although the song is childish, I think it's pretty slick production-wise.
