It's a pretty logical though process.
Visual album = the music isn't good enough to release on its own
Surprise release = the music isn't good enough to sell without it being a trending topic
Exclusive = the music won't be successful so we need a lucrative deal
There's no need to stray from the norm unless the project just isn't that good.
