As long as the music's good, does it really matter anymore? She's secured the fanbase, anyone else who wants to join in at this point is extra for her.
Lana the mainstream youtube video star was cute but it was frustrating to see that they weren't really giving a push for her songs to be played. The SNL performance put a dent in the plans they had for her. One bad performance doesn't ruin an artist though, they always have many more chances to prove themselves which she's done many times since.
But that performance actually helped her a lot though. Literally everyone was talking about it who had no idea who she was.
They totally could have used that to her advantage
