I mean, it wasn't exactly a debut. It was just an appearance on a Nighttime talkshow as a way to introduce themselves to a certain kind of audience. (SM could have planned this more carefully). The Boys was somewhat an experiment to test the water. At this point, I'm not in the position to say if they are going to be moderately successful in the US or not. They definitely made an impact more or less with their first performance. We don't know what the future holds.
With the, say, quite impressive success of 'Twinkle', a Korean mini album by a sub-unit, we can only hope for the better.
