Yeah, I love it and I think it's a lot more genuine than Overexposed, but I get what you're saying. And the shift they made from the style of music they were doing to this was so abrupt.... Their first three albums were solid pop-rock/alternative albums and it was a good sound for them, and then "Moves Like Jagger" came and everything changed. I do think that they're playing it safe with the electronic-pop sound as opposed to going back to their old stuff, though, because they know the general public is here for it and it'll be a hit.

Regardless of whether or not her Tweet was referring to new music, she did promise us an album by this year. She said there were three years between 19 and 21 and it would be the same this time around. 21 came out in early 2011, so we should be getting the album this year. It's a tad overdue, anyways....

I just really hope this album doesn't disappoint. She needs to do something different that feels fresh, like 21 did, but that still appeals to her audience. Good music will sell itself (or at least sell as much as it can in this current sales climate).

And hopefully the single is amazing. She'll sell well regardless of it is or not but it'll hurt her in the long term to not have another RITD or SLY-esque classic on the album, especially since she takes so long in between albums. The material has to have staying power. That's what kills most albums these days.
