New David LaChapelle Pic & Interview In Cosmogirl Netherlands
I think it is old but anyways
Things have been quiet with the diva with the sexy look and powerful voice. But if you thought Christina hasn’t been up to anything, think again. She’s back with a lot of energy and a new look.
You look different, do you have a new image?
“With my look – and my songs – I portray how happy I am and how good I’m feeling right now. My music and my looks have always been a unity. Because I took things slow for a while, I had all the time I needed to get myself inspired. For example, I’m really into pop-art right now. Do you know those paintings from Andy Warhol, with all those bright colours? That’s exactly how I’m feeling right now: happy and energized. I have a very positive outlook on life and that affects everything I do and create.”
You’ve got thousands of fans all over the world, do you yourself have an idol?
“I know it’s really cliché, but my mother is my hero. She has always encouraged me to do what I love most. I chose to be a singer, but if I rather wanted to be a teacher, I know my mom would have supported me just as much.”
What did you learn from your mother?
“To always be honest and to never bottle your emotions up. Because of this I can express myself really well. When something is bothering me, you can immediately see it in my behaviour. I often write my emotions and feelings down in a journal. This really works for me. When I read my journal back after a while I think: why was I so upset with that! My old journals mostly evolved around guys. That’s so ridiculous! Seriously girls, don’t let them get to your head. A guy needs to treat you like a princess, otherwise he’s not worth it.”
How important is it for you to be sexy?
“Haha! It’s obvious that I like to dress provocatively. Some people think it’s trashy, but I see it otherwise. I’m just really glad to be a girl and I want the whole world to know that. There’s nothing wrong with that, right? Because I’m in the spotlight so much, I find it important to be a role model for other girls. I want them to see that you can be whoever you want to be and your looks are not that important. It’s the inner beauty that counts. I hate it when people try to label me. Alright, I love red lipstick, but that doesn’t mean I have to be trashy too. I just do what I feel like doing and what feels right to me.”
You are launching your second perfume line this October. Why another perfume and not a clothing line like other celebrities, for example?
“A perfume makes you feel good about yourself, it’s sort of a finishing touch. Everybody has a memory in which a scent plays a crucial part: like that one kiss with your summer love or that party where you danced all night long. Often you can remember exactly what perfume you were wearing and you will recognize that scent your whole life. Isn’t that worth smelling good?”
Do you remember what your first perfume was?
“I can’t remember what brand it was exactly, but I do remember that I was super excited about it. I was such a girly girl. I loved make-up, so a perfume could not be left out. My mom had her perfume in a little spray bottle, with a little ball you had to pinch in, it was so chic. When I got one of my own, I was just so proud. I still find those old fashioned bottles the prettiest.”
How would you describe your perfume Inspire?
“Feminine! When you wear it, you get this boost of confidence and you feel like you can take on the whole world. I find it very important that girls feel good about themselves. Confidence is what makes someone really sexy. In enjoy it when I see girls on the street with real confidence.”

Do you have a favourite power quote you want to share with Cosmogirls?
“Special quotes I always store on my phone. I love them. This is the last one I added: Him who dares to walk his own path, will never get lost. Nice, isn’t it? When you do in life what you really love and you are who you want to be, nothing can go wrong. I’m not saying it isn’t always a piece of cake to make you dreams reality, but you have to work hard and do everything you can to achieve your goals.”
