Although I may not agree with how the era is starting out [lack of promo, performances, etc], I feel like I'm 1 of 10 people on this forum who actually look forward to the music
I just want to end this misery. I'm sure after getting the album, nothing exciting is going to happen.
Those knocking the lack of promo should listen more to what she's actually said in interviews this era. She's said that if she has plans with loved ones in her life, she'll cancel other engagements - no appointment is bigger than another, I believe her words were.
She basically lost out on half a decade of family time due to her meteoric rise to fame. Her dad has had many health scares, and neither of her parents are getting older, and I'm sure as a 30 year old woman she knows it's important to spend as much time with them as possible. Her best friend also has stage 4 cancer and so that must be a relationship she is hugely prioritising too.
I'm not making excuses. I desperately want promo. But this isn't that surprising when you think about it.
I'd take an artist who tries to make the better or less straight-and-narrow records than the one serving cookie-cutter basic-ness any day of the week. C'mon Gags, give me Joanne.
The worst part about the meltdowns that I really can't believe is that Joanne is STILL pop. It's not even country at all, it just resides in a different subgenre of pop than EDM or synthpop much like Fleetwood Mac's 70s recordings did.
I can't even imagine having such narrow, lowbrow taste that something like Million Reasons or A-Yo is intolerable. What the ****
Exactly. They are so simple and narrow-minded it's absurd. Literally serving shallow gay stereotype. Mocking metalheads and rock lovers who drag pop music for being shallow, while they don't understand they're the exact same thing by denouncing any other genre or subgenre of music that doesn't appeal to them.

I'm kinda ok with the new direction she's taking. I'm a fan ( ) I'll enjoy anything she puts out. I'm sure I can enjoy the album without faking it. I really like PI. MR is a cute album track. But I can't pretend this is the kind of music I really wanted. I was ready for The Fame Monster 2.0 to be honest.
Honestly I wasn't expecting TFM 2.0, but I was expecting this direction with Mark Ronson:
She would have slayed so hard with this sound without repeat herself.
Even with this cover as first single.
But I respect and enjoy the new direction, like you said I enjoy anything she puts out.

We should be loving this era and we are not. The problem is that she didn't take into consideration what we love. Would've loved her to release a pop ep like fame monster and an ep of Joanne to test the waters :/
She should make music which she loves, not what her fans love.
