Rihanna is a very strange artist. As much as her fans love to think that she has some definitive personality, the fact is she's a neutral hitmaker. Everyone loves her because they keep her far enough away from the public. She sings about all the dirty **** she wants and no one complains because it's Rihanna. But she's not a huge product like Gaga, she's just a series of hits.
Rihanna is without a doubt closing in on Gaga from a pure music selling perspective, but as a commercial and pop cultural force, she's still nowhere close.
Adele is whatever. I have no interest in discussing her power for another 14-16 months.
