marry the night - its good... Its definitely grown on me since the first listen. I love her vocals on the song and the chorus is stellar. The 80's breakdown is pretty cool too. The lyrics are blatantly personal which gives it an edge imo. 7.5/10
born this way - its a grower. Its definitely different from almost everything on the album production wise. Uhmmm the madonna comparison kind of ruined this song for me tbh. 7/10
government hooker - i was one of the people who wasnt really hyped for this but im pleasantly surprised. The verses are sung so oddly that it just gives the song a vibe like nothing else on the album. And the subject matter is f|ucking genius. And the last bit with the beeps is worthy of a mention. 8/10
judas - this song is amazing. Ive said it from the first listen and i continue to say so. The beat, how the verses are half rapped/sung & the biblical references are all on point. 9/10
americano - wow. From the opening i knew it'd be like nothing gaga has done before and i was right. None of her competition has even tried tackling this much subject matter in one song and it worked wonders for this song. Seriously its catchy, and her accent gives me life. I though this would be alejandro 2.0 but it seems not. And the gunshot at the end is the perfect way to close off the song. 9/10
hair - the lyrics are pureeee cheese. Like it actually hurts me when i read them because this took btw's to another level. But i would have it no other way because it works perfectly with the song. The chorus is probably one of the strongest on the album and its easy to learn. Either way this song oddly relates to my life and about me "trying to be who i want to be" ( f|uck cliche) so i really like it. 8.5/10
scheiße - the intro is amazing. I like this a lot better than the remix. The pre chorus where she says "i'll rebuke my condition" adds the perfect touch imo. The "oh oh oh's" are brilliantly scattered around at the right points. Definitely exceeded my expectations from when i listened to my remix. And once again whiteshadow & garibay are flawless when it comes to the production. 9/10
bloody mary - this is my favourite on the album. It actually gave me chills on my first listen. The production is hardly complicated but her vocals are what make it stand out. The way she pronounces michael angelo is amazing and the "dance dance dance with my hands hands hands above my head like jesus" line is probably one of the best lines on the whole album. And the random screeches add the perfect touch on an already perfect track. 10/10
black jesus † amen fashion - the best deluxe track. This is like the only one that even really fits with the theme of the album to be honest. The title is still absolutely wack but it surprisingly fits with the song. And the buildup at the beginning is pretty good too. 7/10
bad kids - i dont get the hate for this song at all. Ok the production s a bit whatever but its catchy as hell. From the opening "speech" to the lyrics that are bound to get people to sing along it really is the funnest track on the album. Maybe its because i really didnt have that much excitement for this track but its such a great disco track! 7.5/10
fashion for his love - not here for this madonna left over. Thank god its not on the standard. 3/10
highway unicorn (road to love) - ok i thought this was going to be the gayest track every recorded on earth when i first saw the title but im actually wrong. It once again preaches the love message etc.. But the production makes it hands down. Seriously her vocals match the instrumental perfectly in the beginning and when they are altered in the chorus the result is amazing. 8.5/10
heavy metal lover - another perfect instrumental. I had no idea how this was going to sound but this turned out to be one of my favourites on the album. From the altered vocals (this is what autotune sounds like when it is used to enhance a song) to the instrumental that is seriously killer its gives me so much life. Do i need to even mention the lyrics other than the opening line ? "i want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south"
10/10
electric chapel - this was my most anticipated track behind teog based off the opening instrumental and lets just say this song is nothing like i pictured. I thought the rock vibe in the intro would be carried through out the song but instead its probably one of the most mellow tracks on the record. The "do do do's" are catchy as hell and it actually met my sky high expectations. 9.5/10
the queen - meh. Second best deluxe track but thats not saying much. Pretty generic and its the only song on the album that is unnecessarily long. Im not here for that outro that felt an hour long. 5/10
yoü & i - i love the production on this! Its easily gagas best ballad (that really isnt saying much ) but the lyrics are great, you can tell the song has emotional value for her and it sounds great live. Other than that there really isnt much to say other than she kills it vocally. 7/10
the edge of glory - this song is eerie for me... It sounds light but every time i listen to it my mood gets down. I dont know what it is but this song obviously does something emotionally for me. Love the sax in the breakdown, love the vocals & i love the production. 9/10
overall rating(without standard tracks
): 9/10
i would say it met my expectations. When this album gets it right, it excels anything that i could even imagine. But some tracks feel like they are missing something "special". Bloody mary is possibly the best track of gagas career, and heavy metal lovers & chapel are really f|ucking close too. Is this the album of the generation ? Obviously not. No one really thought it would be though. Is this one of the best pop albums to come out in the last few years ? Yes it is. Gaga is clearly stepping up her gaming and im loving how she is evolving as an artist. Oh and in case you are wondering, i do think its better than tfm because the production is breath taking.
