but I'd say midtempo is def 100-140 and uptempo is anything above

Uptempo - 100-128
Anything above -- double time, triple time, etc. (garage, two-step, dubstep, EDM trap).

I think the term "ballad" is more flexible. There are lots of "dance" ballads, and they were more popular from '08-12. Generally, though, they're in the 60-70 BPM range.

And trying to make Unconditionally happen wasted a lot of time, promo and potential. Imagine all that promo for Dark Horse and then Legendary Lovers as 3rd single.

But the era was very succesful anyways. But it could've been better.
