You Got Me and Sunflowers would have worked as well. I think the album would have benefited from some cuts.
Charmbracelet while R&B had a more hip hop feel on the first half and her old style on the other.
It felt disjointed.

The first MC record I bought was her #1's album, now I own all of her albums, dvd's and a wide collection of her singles. I nearly forgot how obsessed I'm with her artistry and her as an person, when I re-discovered my love for her just by the first ten seconds of 'And You Don't Remember'. I may not be here for this era, but I'll always be here for her. I think I'm gonna watch her immaculate Unplugged concert later today.

Emancipation Of Your Faves Scalps is one of her best albums. Overrated? maybe but it's a good album.

Rainbow is a masterpiece. Y'all always trying to be slick by hating on it and then two minutes later praising every song bar X-Girlfriend.

TEOM is an extremely dry and boring album. It starts off amazing with unique songs and fresh beats; and then somehow just morphs into one long drawn out mess of a song. Seriously, I can't even tell when one song ends and another begins. The lyrics are inspired and generic- which is silly since the album is so slow and ballads rely heavily on lyrics. None of the songs (except maybe SYO) are catchy and stick with you. You can literally listen to the entire album and then not remember the tune to a single song afterwards.

It was an unimpressive attempt to throwback to her old days and it ended up being a total MISS and not at all comparable to her glory.

I'm so thankful she snapped out of it and started moving forward with her music.

My first Mariah album was TEOM when I didn't know Mariah was white.
My cousin gave it to me because he knew how much I loved her singles at the time.
I listened to it, got bored of it (I wasn't much of an album person if it was Ciara. )
But then a year later one of my friends at the time burned her CD for me that only had the 1st 8 songs on it.
But me & my sister JAMMED OUT to it! Then my best friend got me the Ultra Platinum edition for my birthday and I was completely slayed.

The first album that made me STAN was Charmbracelet. I used to listen to that album while slaying all the hoes on World of Warcraft, with Girlfriends reruns playing on TV in the background.

The first album I PURCHASED was MOAIA. I was at Walmart and I saw her album and I made my dad by it for me. I believe he scratched the back of it because I used to PLAY IT OUT my freshman year getting ready for school.

I don't like x girlfriend,how much or Did I Do That. The lyrics on that album are generic compared to Music Box?
I love that album but the lyrics

Songs don't need a catchy hook to be good TEOM proved that.
It was solid and then she regressed with songs like Touch My Body then Obsessed and Up Out My Face.

My first MC album was Music Box. I thought it was so good back then, and now it's definitely in the bottom half of my rankings But I'll always remember playing that cassette on repeat while lounging on my bed when I was like 6.

The first one I got with my own money was Emancipation though, since I was in high school when it came out and had a job.
