"Applause" is going to be great and slay, there's no reason to even consider a situation in which it flops. If it does, then so be it - we're ready for their stones (
). Gaga became a huge force in music based on the exact same principles as she has apparently returned to singing about, and I think that will help her, but even if she flops harder than Lotus, we're here for the music, the imagery, and the woman herself, not for her success. She won't be the top bitch forever - even if she continues to outsell and outgross the other girls, there will come a day in which a new star rises to take her place. Would you stop stanning as hard then? I won't. I've made a commitment - as long as I love the music, the outfits, and this girl's quirky sense for everything, I will be a fan. That's what matters, not her sales. I'll be the first person to go around bragging about her sales and near-untouchable status, but that's only one surface manifestation of a much deeper and larger concept. I'm fascinated by her career, personally, and I'm a huge chart and sales junkie, but even if she loses the power she has I'd still check for news and music literally every day. She's made an undeniable mark on popular culture, and I'm more than satisfied by that as a fan.
