I guess they have the benefit of now knowing Gaga's schedule and have a better idea of when they should strike. Whether to go first, or second etc.
Not sure which would be better for Gaga tbh. If Katy goes first, Gaga can quite easily sweep in and pull focus...but she could get blocked on the charts. If Katy goes second, Gaga gets there first and inevitably renders Katy's comeback inferior...but again, she could get blocked on the charts.

I disagree, because it is a lot more likely that Katy will get the radio support and thus the support from the GP, regardless of whether she decides to release first or second. The dark theme she is going to pull might turn of the public, but I guess she will do it in an attractive way so they won't be.
Gaga is in for a tough battle if she has to compete with Katy. She MIGHT pull focus, but if it's just by weird stuff and not impeccable music than people will ignore her and move on
