IMO BTW underperformed in the UK compared to all her other lead singles & 2nd singles.
If it had a normal release it would of hit #1 with sales of over 120K but it still would of dropped bad 2nd week and so on.

This is true. The UK appreciate performances + promotion and promotion seems to work much better in the UK market then it does in the US market(it has more of an effect). THe UK is probably a handful of countries where BTW underperformed, but still did relatively well for a song given no promotion.

S&M is officially released this week in the UK (today is the start of the new sales trackign week) the EP & remixes have been released to iTunes. I think it is being released physically, I don't know yet.
S&M is coming back to the top 5, its increasing on Black & Yellow and has another version charting in the lower 100's.

This! (I didn't mean to put a downer on BTW's peformance btw).
Performances & Video's really do work magic in the UK. I've noticed (correct me if I'm wrong) that video's don't really effect a songs performance that much in the US. But in the UK video's are actually quite important and it effects sales quite a lot.

Some songs that were released last month are free falling down the charts

"Born This Way" spent about as many days at #1 on iTunes as the songs you mentioned did.

This! But some times physical sales help a lot to songs sales. E.g. Most X factor singles; Charity + Winners singles: Nicole Scherzinger - Poison was #1 for the whole week on itunes in the UK but the X factor charity single outsold it because of it's physical sales.

Only Girl (In The World) also has had quite good physical sales tbh. It was quite low on iTunes and it didn't have another version till the lower 300's but it still charted well on the singles chart. (this is like 2 weeks ago)

BTW is going 2x platinum in less then 2 months. Pretty good longevity to me

True but the videos for BTW and HIAM didnt have much impact. I believe BTW went from #9 to #5 , when some stans were saying it was going back to #1.

Actually physical releases have good weight in the UK unlike the US.

Well for one they were both peaking during the summer, when sales are up. And those 2 songs were the biggest hits of 2010, no one said BTW had to match their success.
