The ballad killed her album sales. I kind of wish they "tricked" consumers by releasing maybe "Hard" or "Rude Boy" as the first single so more people would be excited about her album instead of releasing a controversial ballad. RR is definitely one of her best ballads, but I just don't think it's the proper song to start an era off with.

hard as the first single probably would've been a joke to alot of people .. you know how people made those jokes about her 'not being hard because she got beat' and all this other **** so i don't think that would've been right and rude boy was just a little much for a first single and not too mention a tad too vulgar lol ..

Listening back to the song back again, it really doesn't sound like Rhianna. Kinda sounds also like Britney..maybe it was just a demo, before the real artist singed on it!

Good points...hm. Firebomb is a great song, but I don't know how it would have done on the radio. I don't know what would be the best 1st single then...maybe Photographs? Te Amo should have been released right before the summer started though

They took a risk with "Russian Roulette" but messed it up. It could have been a big hit if they released it earlier and properly promoted. I think it's a great song.

I'm actually content with it! Been with her since If It's Loving That You Want so I'm really use to rapid annual releases and I enjoy them! Guess it's because the constant evolution not only in her sound but her image! So I accept this new album and all it's new offerings with arms wide open!

I hope they release 2 singles before the album so she could possibly score 2 #1s!

Ch..."Hard" is not the way to go first. Rude Boy would've been the perfect lead single.
