Honestly, I can't listen to "For Free?" without thinking of this:
My mind can be quite goofy sometimes...and it was also that goofy mind that inspired me NOT to listen to "Blackstar" before the end of the year. Top of the backlog, no question.
For Free is really a hilarious masterpiece. I expected to see Hotline in the top 20 or so but I can see why it's there. Both Janet and Missy songs are outstanding too and have that trademark sound they are known for. And finally, I didn't expect to see Bowie here. It's a very strange song but it kinda slays. I like this update. Not one bad song. For Free was a polarizing interlude at the start. I remember people hating it. It grew on me though and definitely is a part of the album. WTF really worked as Missy's comeback single, & Unbreakable worked as Janet's comeback album.

I love Bowie's new song too! I didn't have enough time to enjoy it to put it on my list though. I should have. WTF, while not on my list, is another good one that's kiiiinda messy but it's nice to have Pharrell on a track actually doing something kinda different from his past 100 productions.
