How the hell is it not? Shake It Off debuted at #1, and 1989 sold 1.287 million FW. Are you suggesting 25's "launch" will be greater than 1.287 million, cuz I'd like to bookmark you.
The one who has been able to not only debut with a million in her first week three time, but increase with each album. The one who holds the record for the highest first week sales to a single for a female. The one who is currently grossing $175 Million in tour gross from like what, 50 dates?
We can keep going. Taylor has already proven herself. Everything Adele is doing at the moment, Taylor already did throughout the 1989 era.
Taylor is the correct answer, but I will admit that it is contentious. It will no longer be contentious when 25 fails to match 1989's success.

Now if you're just another receiptless person talking about how Hello "feels bigger" and has more celebrities tweeting about it, that's less interesting, and you can move to the left. And even if Hello has a bigger "launch", but still fails to outsell 1989 (first week and overall), which it won't, what does that say, my child?

Anyway, Adele is very successful thanks to her ~relatable, super formulaic music. Taylor is more polarizing and she actually takes more risks.
We will have to wait and see how her new material performs on the charts.
