As someone who really likes Beyonce, Self-titled was the first experimental album we ever got from her.

Gaga's music is as unconventional as pop can get. Born This Way was an antithesis to the dance pop that was taking over in 2011 (the dance pop she made popular hi hi) and ARTPOP happened when EDM was trailing off. Half of her studio discography was sonically different from what was popular during the time periods it was released in.

Gaga actually alienated her fan base after her massive accuses with TF/M. BTW was not want a good bit of people wanted it but it was a good album. Beyonce wouldn't dare go this route, but that's okay. She's good at what she does has mastery over music and vision, something Gaga could learn from. Taking risks is alright, but you have to know what you're doing because ARTPOP wasn't a 'risk' - it's just that no one bought into her unintelligible vision. Gaga has taken more risks, but the payoff hasn't always worked in her favor.

Gaga. She been risky since TFM tbh. Bad Romance alone. Nobody ever thought that song would be that big. And ever since she's been putting out risky songs.

As for Bey, the only risky thing was the surprise release, and maybe Run The World.
