As a member of an Asian culture with three sisters and many friends and family who are from (several) different Asian cultures I honestly get what she is trying to say.
It's not a bad thing, nor is she shaming anyone. What I got from her statement was that in many different cultures in Asia there is a tendency for girls to be silenced or forced to conform into "obedient" roles. All she wants is to allow people, and especially girls, to get inspired by being different and speaking up for themselves. Obviously not all Asian girls are like this, but there
is a tendency for many girls to have to deal with this kind of patriarchal system where they aren't allowed to be as free as they can within their cultures. I've witnessed it, my friends and family have witnessed it, and likely CL has experienced it as well.
And also, it's not like she's saying she's the "first" or anything, she just wants to let it be known that that is what she stands for. Of course there are many strong and independent Asian women who are icons. She isn't claiming that she's the only one, she's just talking about how important it is.
