Oh science can't account for Abiogenesis - evolution is debunked. Science can't explain what caused this absurd big bang theory - obviously it didn't happen & the universe was created by god 6,000 years ago.
You see, she clearly suggests a "God of the gaps" scenario and creationists will celebrate her for that. I know that she probably had questions like the meaning of life in her mind when she posted that, but that picture is nevertheless manipulative creationist propaganda intended to discredit science & she shouldn't have posted it.

If you're religious.... God does have higher authority than science! That's a core part of religious beliefs. Just because he has a higher authority for her and me doesn't mean he has a higher authority for everyone (for example, atheists)
By that logic, your post is propaganda to discredit religion and spread science. It's a ridiculous notion and one that makes no sense. She believes in God, she believes he answers questions science doesn't, she expressed that belief on Intagram. She did nothing wrong, and I doubt you would be saying this if she posted "Science has all the answers, you don't need God." (Something I would totally disagree with, but if a celebrity believes that, it's his or her right to believe it and post it no matter how much I disagree with it)

Are you seriously putting religion on a level with science? And no I'm not suggesting that science is entirely superior to religion, it's just totally different things. And that's where many religious people, including Britney in our case, tend to become ignorant: You're suggesting that God can legitimately have a higher authority than science, if that's what's chosen as belief. The point is though that God & religion have NO authority at all concerning scientific questions and whether or not you have belief in something is completely irrelevant. Science is not subjective, and most importantly it's not a religion.
Perhaps god can be a seen as answer to metaphysical questions like the meaning of life that somewhat withdraw themselves from scientific judgement. In a country where a significant part of the population still discredits science entirely and evolution & creationism are still perceived as competing theories with each having equal scientific value, this post is totally insensitive though and prone to misinterpretation.

Oh, no. No one is suggesting that religion IS science or is a valid way to answer a scientific question, there's totally a miscommunication here. Metaphysical questions is what I'm referring to, not "Where'd humans come from?" "Oh idk God did it valid scientific answer."
I don't think even most CHRISTIANS taken creationism 100% seriously at this point, and I don't think Britney was trying to suggest that either. I know the Catholic stance is basically "God is ultimately responsible for it, and he gave humans a soul. Otherwise just go with whatever the best scientific explanation is" which is BASICALLY how I feel.

You're contradicting yourself. How can God have any authority on science when it doesn't even tangle science but only metaphysics as you say?

Christians and not just Creationists very well make empirical statements that are beyond just metaphysical. Such claims are the existence of a human soul that survives death, the virtue of prayer, etc. These are claims that can be scientifically examined, and in fact all have been with the clear results that they are wrong.

Um people get attacked for their beliefs all the time in this country. She has the right to believe what she wants. That doesn't mean people can't attack her.

Britney's social media presence has become beyond cringeworthy. It resembles my 89-year-old great aunt who reposts every clickbait she sees and forwards "Obama is a secret muslim" chain emails.
