You're wrong for multiple reasons.
1. Being on a higher selling album doesn't make a song more popular. I mean Pearl was on Teenage Dream so that mean it's bigger than say This Is How We Do?
2. Many of the people who bough SIO as a single were the same who bought 1989, so it's the same people owning one song. You don't add album sales and single sales to determine how many people own a song
