They definitely suffered when Pop music's sound started to go a different direction during the late 90's.
I'm convinced they could've made a comeback like Mimi during the mid 00's when R&B music took over the charts but they never got the chance. Ah well, they made their mark in the history of music. OSD, IMLTY, EOTR, OBK, 4SOL and WTR are classics.
