For someone like me who already pays for Spotify Premium, having another viable streaming service in the same price range is exciting cause the possibilities.
If the artists backing it weren't gunning with an "I need more money!!!" approach, and instead they focused on better features (and didn't have that ridiculous $20 model) this could MAYBE be a Spotify competitor, but instead it'll just be DOA
Sticking with spotify until the wheels falls off. **** my faves you greedy bastards. I listen to them, I don't get plowed by them every night, they don't pay these bills and child support. #SpotifyForAll
I dont do ads or play limits boo. I aint bout that life.
I don't either. If you actually know how to use Spotify you can completely avoid ads on both the non-mobile and mobile versions. The only thing you have to deal with as a free listener is not being able to choose tracks on Spotify mobile, that's it. Learn how to use it.
Maybe Jay is trying to get as much higher paying subscriptions right now to start building the franchise and after time when they build revenue they will add a cheaper alternative?
I mean the 9.99 version is Tidal PREMIUM so maybe a basic or standard subscription will come later with just the choice of music or videos and the editorials?
I have no idea, but I'm excited to see how this plays out tbh.
I feel like there's more "I HATE BEY AND JAY! I'm not paying Blue's day care fund!" than actual and serious commentary on this new service or people actually trying it before talking crap. I have to remember this is ATRL not a real music forum.
sis. they still make millions from tours while you're sitting your broke ass paying for that
And what about the songwriters, producers, engineers, and people who work under labels that do not go on tours and earn millions? Artists aren't the only ones paid when you purchase music, why aren't y'all understanding that.
I mean since Walmart makes billions, y'all are gonna head up to your local one and start getting things for free?
"@jeff1317: in all seriousness, I wish the focus would be more on songwriters, producers, engineers — y'know, the ones not making millions off touring"
