She influenced fashion and there's the general Rihannamania... but musical influence? :-/
C'mon Eli why'd you have to bring it up hun.
You know you're wrong.
Listen to interviews. Artist after artist has admitted their passion for GGGB and how much they want to use that as a motivation for their album. They all want to be like RiGoddess.
Beyonce. (may not have admitted it but her initial direction was to better GGGB)
Tearri Mari (excuse incorrect spelling)
The BritBrit herself loves some Rihanna
Oh yes, I gave Rihanna her credit for inspiring Beyonce earlier in the thread. Rihanna does it better. I am now a semi-fan of hers if you didn't know. I'm sort of half excited for her next album.
I don't know/don't care about Tierra Mari.
Britney's music doesn't sound like Rihanna's though.
Britney, duh. She was in the Psych ward 10 months ago, she regained her crown, smashed the #1, broke the records, brought the album of the decade and the comeback of all time. BEAT THIS.
What does that have to do with influencing the industry in 2008. She didn't.

Really? I'm pleased. Not surprised. Knew the day would come.
Britney has not been influential this year, Mazen. Phenomenal? Definitely! She's still got a lot of people's attention and a strong fanbase but her music isn't blazing trails for anybody, I mean, I really don't see any artists out right now that you could legitimately label a "Britney wannabe." And please don't say Rihanna. Rihanna isn't exactly in a league of her own but she's not following in Britney's footsteps either. Neither is Katy, and if anything, Christina is riding Gaga's coattails. I think Disney wants to make Miley the next generation's Britney but she's not of the same caliber. So basically, Britney is Britney but let's face it, her heyday has passed. You don't see anybody emulating her fashion sense or music videos anymore. I'm not trying to dismiss her at all, but come on, even Rico conceded that Britney hasn't been an influential artist this year. Nobody is denying her relevance, but her influence is negligible. I have a feeling though that 2009 might regain some of her status.
