A comeback? From what? Not aging, being flawless and having beautiful children with her gorgeous husband?
She doesn't need your sympathies or support to continue reigning, but if it so happen she decides to bless some unworthy recording studio with her angelic vocals than so be it.

Hollaback Girl was the first digital success (1M digital, which was huge then) And if it weren't for that there would no The Dutchess. I don't know whether to hate Gwen for this or not. LAMB sold plenty as well. Her sophomore album didn't do as well, but I don't think she cared..which is why I don't think we are going to even get another 3rd album from her.

Thats the point with Fergie.
It’s pretty obvious Fergie was taking notes when BEP were opening on Stefani’s tour: The Dutchess closely follows the LAMB blueprint, and every Gwen song has its Fergie equivalent (“Luxurious” equals “Glamorous,” “Hollaback Girl” equals “London Bridge” and so on). But Fergie pulls it off because, like Stefani, she has an appealing, girl-friendly, no-nonsense persona built on years of hard work and (unlike Stefani, it seems) even harder living.
Stefani Germanotta would probably be dropped by the public. Gwen does advant-garde better and actually beautifully. Plus her songs have an effortlessly cool edge.
